Polarization-maintaining Fiber (PM) Fusion Splicer
The TUNE PM 300 Splicer is a novel solution to fusion splice polarization maintaining fibers, providing substantial cost reduction. The ease of operation has been proven in the manufacturing environment. The design adds two manual rotary fiber holders to a fusion splicer with software modification so that the PM axes can be aligned manually while fiber core alignment is automatic. In operation, the axes of two PM fibers are manually aligned by rotating the holders while visually matching the stress patterns on the display, similar to the conventional motor rotation PM splicers. Once the axes are aligned and locked in position, the fusion splicing will then be performed automatically with pushing a button.
The basic splicer kit includes a battery, a cleaver, a stripper, a cleaning alcohol dispenser, and tissues.
